Thalapathy Vijay has kept his personal life away from media circles from the day, he entered into the acting career. He married Sangeetha Sornalingam, after being in love for years in August 1999. Rumors have been plenty that Vijay and Sangeetha have separated and now, she filed divorce from him in Chengalpattu Family Court. 

She stated that she has irreconcilable differences with her husband and they are living separately from past 5 years as she mentioned that she is unable to forgive adultery committed by her husband. She mentioned that has he had extra marital affair with the said actress, she had decided to file for divorce. 

The timing of this legal move adds to a challenging phase for Vijay. The actor turned into full-time politician after completing his final film, Jana Nayagan. The movie is facing censor difficulties and with Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam, TVK, he is hoping to bring political change in Tamil Nadu and has sight on CM chair.  

Now, Family Court has summoned both the parties to appear in person on 20th April in front of the judge. Interestingly, Sangeetha also stated that there has been harassment and cruelty towards her from Vijay and she would reveal the name of the actress, with whom he is in relationship, if the harassment continues. 

Sangeetha has been away from media and did not appear with him in public even at his big political announcement. As of now, neither Vijay nor his representatives have issued an official statement regarding the filing. Fans and political observers alike are watching closely, as the outcome may impact both his personal life and his growing public persona.
