The buzz in Tollywood circles is that Ram Charan's highly anticipated Peddi is eyeing a brand new release date, and it is causing quite a stir behind the scenes. Word on the street is that the makers are strongly considering June 25th to bring the film to theaters.

This sudden shift is turning out to be a massive headache for Akhil Akkineni’s Lenin. Interestingly, the Lenin team had already moved away from their initial May 1st release plan specifically to avoid clashing with Peddi. Thinking they were safe, they locked in June 26th as their new date. However, if the current industry whispers are true, Peddi arriving on June 25th means the dreaded box office clash is back on again, putting the Akkineni hero right back in the danger zone.

The real twist here is the actual production status of Peddi. Currently, shoot of the film is going on and trade circles are murmuring that the team has already communicated the June 25th date to their North American distributors to start blocking screens. Yet, insider sources reveal that the film's shoot will not entirely be wrapped up, some patch work and a song are still pending even after this schedule. 

Whether the team can rush through the remaining shoot to hijack the June weekend or if Lenin gets to breathe easy is currently the hottest debate in the industry. AR Rahman is scoring music for the film and he doesn't like to rush his quality. Interestingly, Janhvi Kapoor, the leading lady has been silent about the film. Let's wait for official confirmation from director Buchi Babu and team.
