The highly anticipated sports drama Peddi, featuring an impressive cast of Ram Charan, Janhvi Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar, Divyendu, and Jagapati Babu, is facing another delay. Initially scheduled for March 26th and later pushed to April 30th, the release has now been officially postponed to June. The makers are currently considering either June 4th or June 25th, as the extensive post-production works require more time to complete.
The film is presented by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings. As this is the maiden production for producer Venkata Satish Kilaru, he is reportedly facing some issues navigating the massive scale of the project. Despite these hurdles, the producer and Ram Charan are determined to deliver the best possible cinematic experience and refuse to rush the final product. Director Buchi Babu Sana is working round the clock to perfect every frame, while AR Rahman is busy composing a grand background score.
The promotional material released so far has met with a mixed response. While the track "Chikiri Chikiri" has quickly become a massive chartbuster, the recently unveiled "Body builder" glimpse did not click as much with viewers. Interestingly, the extra time has altered the film's business approach. The makers are engaged in fresh discussions with major OTT platforms, negotiating a profit-sharing agreement for the digital rights as one-time high amount deal has to be scrapped with multiple delays.
However, multiple delays could be a cause for concern regarding the film's initial box office openings. Although Peddi remains a highly anticipated project, such frequent postponements can cause a lack of interest and break the promotional momentum among sections of the audience.
