Allu Arjun's highly anticipated collaboration with director Lokesh Kanagaraj is once again making headlines, this time over an unexpected casting decision. According to the latest industry chatter, the makers are planning to go ahead without casting a conventional leading lady opposite the Pushpa star.

If the speculation turns out to be true, AA23 will become the first film in Allu Arjun's career without a dedicated heroine. While several of his previous films have focused heavily on action and drama, they have all featured a prominent female lead. Lokesh Kanagaraj now appears to be taking a different route by keeping the narrative completely centered on the protagonist and the world around him.

Lokesh Kanagaraj is currently looking forward to release of his film, DC, in which he is debuting as an actor. Allu Arjun is busy with his Raaka shoot, directed by Atlee.
