Ileana D’Cruz though hails from Mumbai, she has settled in Goa. After schooling, Ileana was very active in modeling doing photo shoots and commercial ads.

Ileana was spotted by YVS Chowdary when she was doing Fair and Lovely ad film directed by Rakesh Roshan. And she finally made it to Telugu movies through her debut movie Devadasu (2006), directed by Y.V.S. Chowdhary. This movie gave Ileana the right break straightaway.

Later Ileana enacted in Pokiri in the same year directed by Puri Jagannath. The movie was a blockbuster and has rewritten all previous box office records. Pokiri movie has changed Ileana’s fortunes overnight and in no time, she roused to top position in Telugu cinema. Ileana then tested waters in Tamil cinema with her debut with Kedi (2006), but the movie was a failure.

Basking on her success, Ileana shifted focus on Telugu movies and signed movies like Khatarnak and Rakhi (2006). And by this time, Ileana already worked with top production houses and directors. But Munna and Aata (2007) extended her slump form in the movies and Ileana was under pressure to deliver a hit.

Jalsa (2008) has revived her career chances and she was on a signing spree. Her next movie Bhale Dongalu (2009) was again a failure and it prompted Ileana to choose scripts carefully. Though Kick (2009) gave her the much needed respite, Rechipo and Saleem (2009) turned out to be disasters and has Ileana back to square. Ileana is currently enacting in Shakti starring Jr. NTR, Nenu Na Rakshasi starring Daggubati Rana and her other Tamil movie Nanban is also under production.
