| Teja was Born to Late JBK chowdary. His childhood was very traumatic, His mother died when he was six years of age of heart failure, his father died of the shock. After this his father's properties were taken over, by his relatives. He stayed in his uncle's house from where he ran away. He went to Govt. school in the morning and worked in the night for money, and slept where ever he could find some shelter. after which he slowly worked his way up.After Teja finished his tenth, his saw increasing interest for Films in him, started his career as a lighting assistant, after he did lighting and small works for many movies, he slowly observed cinematographers and learned all the tricks to cinematography, he shot many short films with money, he slowly piled up, which he directed, cinematographed and produced. In this process he met Ram Gopal Varma, they became really good friends and RGV got his first chance for a movie, he asked asked Teja to be the cinematographer. Teja did a wonderful job out of cinematography of the film, he won the Nandi award for it. Later he went on to do cinematography for Bollywood films. CinematographyAfter his Debut for Raat, as a cinematographer, he continued to be more films with RGV which Included Shiva, Kshana Kshanam, Rangeela etc. After this he went into bollywood to do many movie such as Teerpu, The Don, Gulaam, Jis Desh Mein Ganga Rehta Hain (2000) Money (1993) Antam (1992) Drohi (1992) Raat(1992). etc. he worked simultaneously for two films for one in the morning and one in the night, and proved to be a hard- working cinematographer. He won 26 Awards for cinematography. While shooting for films as cinematographer as saw increasing interest in him to Direct films. Though many people Dis-encouraged him to join the direction Department he did and went to rule tollywood for many years. he had lot of experience in Directed Parts of Shiva and Kshana Kshanam, and ghost directed many films. So he set his goal towards Direction. |
