Socio-mythological films exploring the horror thriller genre have been common these days. Jatadhara with Sonakshi Sinha in a leading role making Telugu Debut garnered good hype. Sudheer Babu starred as protagonist and movie released today. Let's discuss about the film in detail. 

Plot: 
Shiva (Sudheer Babu) doesn't believe in ghosts but becomes a ghost hunter. He tries to prove existence of ghosts as a myth. But he is being chased by Dhana Pisachi (Sonakshi Sinha). As his family members, earlier conducted a dark ritual for "Lanke Bindelu (Hidden treasures)", the Pisachi wants him as a sacrifice. How will he escape from her? Watch the movie to know more. 

Analysis :

Sudheer Babu is good in his role but he did not have much to offer than look fit and do the bare minimum. His efforts in Shiva Tandavam are appreciable. Sonakshi Sinha did an extended cameo appearance but makers tried to project it as a full length role. 

She did not have any dialogues and mostly her scenes seem to have been attached later after most of the shoot is finished. Divya Khosla Kumar looked clueless and Jhansi, Subhaleka Sudhakar, Rajeev Kanakala kind of experienced actors failed to make sense of ridiculous script. 

Writing is very basic yet it fails to get the senses right. Production values are good to an extent and VFX is hurried and badly executed. Many sequences are handled pretty poorly and execution feels rushed at many places. The story needed grounded approach rather than rushing through sequences. 

Using themes that talk about popular tantrik and age-old practices popular in India, the story needed better narrative structure and base. Jatadhara fails to create any sort of emotional connection and feels like a bad attempt.
