After a cult thriller like Ratsasan, Vishnu Vishal has attempted another cop thriller with Aaryan. The movie is based on a mystery of a a dead person executing his serial killing mission. The film's dubbed version released a week later in Telugu States. Let's discuss about the film in detail.
Plot:
A failed writer Athreya (Selvaraghavan) announces his mission to execute a plan of serial mass murders starting with himself on Live TV, hosted by popular anchor Nayana (Shraddha Srinath). As he is dead, Police have to rush against time to save the victims. DCP Nandi (Vishnu Vishal) is assigned to crack down the victims. Can he find the reason behind the mayhem and save at least one? Watch the movie to know more.
Analysis :
Vishnu Vishal looks like a cop and delivered a highly engaging performance. His walk, screen presence and style are different from his previous films. Shraddha Srinath is good and Maanasa Chaudhary is okay, too. Selvaraghavan is very good in his role.
Music by Ghibran, technicial values and framing are apt for the film. Production design makes the movie sensible and believable. But the writing again takes audiences on a ride asking for too much of suspension of disbelief.
The major amount of screentime is dedicated to explain villain motive but it feels very unconvincing and convenient. It needed a good set up and execution to work on the whole with more convincing and grounded logic.
Still, the performances and technical values are good enough to make it a watchable flick. Aaryan with good ideas and better writing could have been much much better film but falls short of its ambition.
TeluguOne Perspective :
Aaryan struggles with sound logic but entertains to a level.
