Directions | How to make  Dal Puri |
- First soak Urad Dal for two hours and grind to a paste by adding very little water. Separately grind together red chilli powder, cloves, cinnamon, garam masala, cumin seeds and cardamom and keep aside.
- Mix 1/2 tsp of salt and 1 tsp of oil in flour and using sufficient amount of water make a smooth dough. Set aside the dough for half hour covering with a wet cloth.
- Take a pan and heat 2 tsp of oil in it. Once it is hot add ground masalas and Dal paste. Stir constantly till Dal is fried and water is fully absorbed. This will leave the Dal fully dried.
- Make equal size dough balls. Then make cup of each dough ball and carefully fill the Dal mixture in it. Close from all the sides and roll out to make a flat roti of 3" diameter using a rolling pin.
- Heat Oil in a Kadai(wok) and once it is hot deep fry each roti in it till golden brown and crisp from outside.
- Serve Hot along with Boondi Raita and Aloo Sabji.
