Afghani Biryani

 

 

Ingredients:

Mutton - 1 kg

Rice - 1kg

Onions chopped - 3

Tomatoes chopped - 2

Ginger garlic paste - 2 tbs

Chilli flakes - 1 tbs

Garam masala - 2 tbs

Green chillies - 4 

Carrots - 3

Salt to taste

2 fried brown onions

Oil - 1/2 cup

Almonds Raisins - 1/2 cup for garnishing

 

Method:

In a large pot mix mutton ginger garlic paste, half garam masala, 2 chopped onions , 2 green chillies, salt with 4 glass of water. Cook for 30 mins till the meat is cooked, separate the meat from stock and keep it aside. Now heat oil in a large pan, fry 1 chopped onion till light golden and add garam masala to it. Now add meat, tomatoes, green chillies 1 tbs chilli flakes and salt , stir well and cook till its turns into light golden. To this add rice and stock. stir well to mix all ingredients cover it with lid and allow it to cook until stock dries, leave it on dum for 5 to 10 mins. On the other side take a pan add 2 tbs oil fry all dry fruits raisins, almonds and carrots one after the other until brown. Now add carrots , dry fruits , fried Brown onions in rice , mix well and serve it hot.
