Kiran Kumar Reddy’s new Party slogan which is all about ‘Teluguvaari Atma Gouravam’ looks and sounds familiar. Now for those who have tuned into the 2014 political scenario may or may not remember the Late N T Rama Rao’ call when he first launched the Telugu Desam Party on March 21st 1982- It was the same motto “Telugu Atma Gauravam which resulted in the resounding victory in the immediate election. But to try and match the same aura skepticism notwithstanding, Jai Samaikyandhra Party President Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy who hopes to make a larger impact with voters who have given up on the Congress, TDP, BJP and YSR Congress alike will be seen only after the votes have been cast.
Apart from the sentiment of the Telugu pride his focus is on students, NGO activists and women. On the eve of the inaugural rally to be held in Rajamundry where the party logo is rumored to be the Chappal ( footwear) akin to the AAP s logo the broom we need to see if he can really garner the same kind of public support which the late NTR got when he had a massive public meeting at Nizam College grounds on April 11,1982 attended by his fans that spilled over to road all around reflected the mood of the people and popular support to NTR’s campaign against the Congress.
The Congress critics are already concluding his party as a weak attempt to regain ground and with a few leaders who are with him and the low turnout of people in the press meet has led to widespread snide remarks that it is like sleeper class in the train where people adjust to the seats. All this will be revealed today in the launching of the party at Rajamundry.
