Nation has witnessed a peaceful and active polling in two crucial states yesterday.
- 82% voters have opted their vote in West Bengal and 78% turned in for the elections in Assam.
- 18 out of 294 constituencies in West Bengal and 65 constituencies out of 126 in Assam has gone for polling yesterday.
- The high turn out in West Bengal is being considered as a success, as 13 out of 18 constituencies were considered to be the areas dominated by Maoists.
- No violent incidents were reported during the poll.
- Though the mind of voters remain uncertain regarding their verdict, opinion polls suggest Mamata Didi to be the next CM of West Bengal while a hung was being predicted for Assam.
- Both these states will go to the next phase of polling on April 11th.
- However the voters in these states have to wait till May 19th to know the results.
