On the retirement of a local senior Govt. Officer, there was a news item in the paper that the said Officer has retired from service. The retired officer seeing the news item got furious and spoke to the Editor of the Daily on phones as to why he published it and where was the need for it?
The Editor tried to convince the Officer that it was customary to give such news for the information of general public.
The retried Officer still unconvinced said “Well, then why have you given the news under ‘National Improvement Program.
