Nani has become one of the most reliable and believable actor in Tollywood with hat trick hits- Nenu Local, Ninnu Kori and MCA. Even with mixed talk, MCA turned out as a super hit grossing worldwide share of 40 Cr for lifetime run. Thus, prospects were high on Krishnarjuna Yuddham. Will this movie reach the expectations?

Story:

The film is about two dissimilar youngsters- a flamboyant rock star Arjun (Nani) and another, Krishna (Nani again), rustic youth given to violence. Arjun living in Prague is a flirt falls in love with a professional photographer Subbalakshmi (Anupama Parameswaran). On the other hand, Krishna is a happy go lucky guy adores a doctor Riya (Rukshar Mir), granddaughter of his village president. Movie takes new twist and turn when Subbalakshmi and Riya get missing at the same time in Hyderabad. Who’s behind it? What’s their intention? What will Krishna and Arjuna do now?

Positives:

1. Krishna Role
2. First Half
3. Cinematography

Negatives:

1. Second Half
2. Regular Story
3. Loopholes In Script
4. Songs Placement
5. Low In Emotions

Analysis:

Nani after a long time played dual roles as a rock star and a local guy with different characteristics. The role Krishna provides enough of entertainment in first half. His slang, body language and mannerisms will tickle funny bones. Krishna is a mass guy who doesn’t care anything and wishes to get love marriage. He tries to impress many girls, but none cares him. Meanwhile, he gets to meet the beautiful girl Rukshar Mir who is a doctor. On the other hand, Arjun is a womanizer and a popular rock star in Prague. He will change completely after seeing Anupama who’s a professional photographer. Towards the interval, both the heroines go missing. However, movie turned slow in second half with Krishna and Arjun searching for their love interests. The character Krishna that provided some entertainment in first half turns serious in second half.

Artists Performances:

Nani is too good in the role of Krishna, tough he was regular and unsuitable for Arjun character. While most of the scenes in first half where Krishna is seen are hilarious and enjoyable, the sequences of Arjun fail to amuse. Seems like, Nani is trying for mass hero image, as the film has adequate action in second half. He is a complete different actor as Krishna with Rayalaseema dialect and atypical body language. Anupama Parameswaran was gorgeous as photographer. She played her role with ease. Rukshar Mir looked glamorous and charming as doctor Riya. Fun Bucket fame Mahesh and Sudarshan are funny as Nani friends. Prabhas Srinu was regular and Brahmaji was cool. Other artists were decent.

Technical Aspect:

Director Merlapaka Gandhi narrated the main story only in the second half, whereas first half runs completely on characterization of lead actors. However, movie was good in first half with adequate entertainment, wherein story turns serious in second half. The story is akin to Krishna Vamsi’s classic Gulabi. Music director Hiphop Tamizha provided wonderful soundtracks, especially the mass number ‘Daari Choodu’ is enjoyable, but not on screen with visuals which are not matching to the tunes because of bad choreography. Background score was also fascinating. Cinematography by Karthika Ghattamaneni is other big asset, wherein editor Sathya G unnecessarily included many boring episodes in second half. Production values of Sri Venkateswara Films are top notch.

Verdict:

Krishnarjuna Yudham fails to live up to the expectations. It is to be seen how this film survives with mixed talk and that too with huge competition in this summer.
