Right Success Formula For Small Films!

on Dec 4, 2017

Filmmakers like Jandhyala, Vamsi, Relangi Narasimha Rao, Dasari Narayana Rao, EVV Satyanarayana etc. had mostly made small to medium range films in their elongated careers. Even though they made films with stars, they made sure that budget will be within the bounds.

If minimum of entertainment was guaranteed, audience used to encourage small budget films then. Fortunately, there were no much other entertainment options until 90’s. Ever since small screens (TV) came into market, small films likelihood became tough.

With lots of entertainment options today in the form of TVs, computers and mobile, people are not showing much interest to watch small time films. That doesn’t mean that, there is zero encouragement for small time movies.

Films like Pelli Choopulu, Kshanam etc. have done wonders at box office because of engaging scripts, vigorous promotions and right time of release. Mediocre or half-baked subjects are firmly refused by spectators.

Recently, a film called Mental Madhilo from Pelli Choopulu producers received positive response from critics. However, this movie botched to mint money. The reason is wrong time of release and low promotions.

In last few weeks nearly 25 to 30 films hit the screens. No single movie out of these could rake even minimal numbers and have disappered from theaters in no time without any trace.

In this current generation where people lack patience, no one is wishing to spend money on films with mediocre subjects. Therefore, what filmmakers need to score hits with small budget films is taking utmost care about script, opt to look for unique promotions and should wait for right time to release. And, this will be applicable for high budget entertainers as well in near future!
