Taapsee says she faced harassment in Delhi

Taapsee Pannu who starred in Shoojit Sircar’s film PINK, is the talk of the town now. The movie has been getting rave reviews and also Taapsee is being praised for good work in screen. She recently revealed in an interview that she was subjected to harassment while she was in Delhi as a teenager. She said, “Eve-teasing used to happen almost on a daily basis in Delhi. I used to travel in DTC buses while going to college for the longest time. I got my car when I was 19. So for two years before getting a car, I used to travel in DTC buses.

And eve-teasing used to happen almost daily. Not just that, I have been touched inappropriately in DTC buses. Rubbed at wrong places while in a bus. And if we ventured into crowded areas in Delhi during the time of festivals, people used to touch you at inappropriate places. It was very common and has happened to me.

” She also added that a similar incident happened with her recently in Mumbai as well when she was going to meet a friend in the evening and was crossing the road while talking on phone, two guys on a bike passed some comment and started laughing at her. While they felt that she had not heard them, Taapsee instead turned around and started staring at them. And within a few seconds, the fear was visible on their faces. She exerted that this made her realize for the first time that if you try to react, these men also get equally scared.
