on Sep 2, 2014

On the occasion of Vinayaka Chavithi, veteran director Ram Gopal Varma posted a line up of tweets against Lord Ganesha. This was treated offensive and a lot of people considered it as an insult to the religion. It is absolutely not OK to mess around with the religious sentiments of Indians. A lawyer named Karuna Sagar registered a complaint against Ram Gopal Varma at the Saroor Nagar Police Station in Hyderabad. Responding to this complaint, Ram Gopal Varma has been booked under IPC sections 153 A (promoting enmity between different groups), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace), 505 (statements conducing to public mischief), and 298 (hurting religious feelings). A couple of cases have been filed against Ram Gopal Varma in Mumbai as well. Let us see what happens with this Maverick director who has a series of films lined up for a release !!!
