Analysis:
Fidaa is a love story between an NRI guy and a village girl who have different life style and tastes. Movie starts with Varun Tej’s family of an elder brother and a younger brother being introduced. All of them come to India for the elder one’s marriage. There Varun sees a normal looking girl Sai Pallavi who is always talkative and of friendly nature. Sai Pallavi slowly develops love towards Varun Tej, but she doesn’t reveal to him due to a reason. Until here, most of the sequences between Varun and Pallavi are romantic, hilarious and pleasant. Director Sekhar Kammula fully exploited Telangana culture in marriage etc. The sequence of Sai Pallavi’s sister bidding adieu to her family members was heart-touching. Truly, everyone will turn emotional after watching this particular sequence. Then, movie shifts to USA, where Varun Tej is waiting for nod for his love from Sai Pallavi who actually rejects his proposal. Film moves a bit slow from here onwards, though there were some pleasing moments here and there. People in Telangana will definitely love few sequences, especially girls. The Bathukamma song will enchant them for sure. While Varun Tej is shown village beauties in first half, it’s Varun’s turn to show US picturesque locations to the girl. The movie ends on happy note with all the problems are solved between Varun and Sai Pallavi.

Artists Performances:

It’s Sai Pallavi’s show all the way. Though she is not a stunning beauty like many glamorous heroines in Telugu, she mesmerized spectators with her charming and bubbly performance. In fact, she was not acting, but she lived the character. The Telangana accent and simple but effective mannerisms are a treat to watch. Coming to Varun Tej, he has improved a lot as an actor. Though Sai Pallavi dominated the first half, Varun got his space in second half and he nailed it with perfection. Harshavardhan Rane has played a brief role and he is okay. The other artists such as the roles played by Sai Pallavi’s sister, father and aunt were really superb. The young kid who essayed Varun’s younger brother was cute. Other artists were good.

Technical Aspect:
Director Sekhar Kammula is specialist in dealing pure romantic class entertainers. His hard work and passion on the film is seen in first half, where you will hardly find any boring sequences. He didn’t forcibly include any scene in first half, whereas he opted to regular treatment in second half. In fact, we don’t get a feeling of watching a film, due to very natural writing. However, Sekhar Kammula should have worked a bit on second half as well. He was well supported by music director Shakthi Kanth who provided mesmerizing tunes and captivating BGM and cinematographer who picturized both village and USA locations quite amazingly. Production values of Sri Venkateswara Creations are top notch as usual. Other technicians also gave their best.

Verdict:
Fidaa has many chances to shine at box office. It will do wonders in multiplexes. Better second half should help it to become a huge blockbuster.
