Tollywood star producer Dil Raju announced to make Bharateeyudu 2 (Indian 2 In Tamil) with Kamal Haasan in lead role and Shankar helming it. Seems like, the project has almost got shelved. Here are the reasons for Dil Raju calling off the project, as per sources.
AM Ratnam who produced the original version Bharateeyudu is said to be asking Rs 25 crores as royalty to make the sequel. Kamal Haasan and Shankar together are demanding a remuneration of staggering Rs 120 crores. Including other artists, technicians remunerations and production cost will take the film’s budget to somewhere around Rs 400 crores.
Considering all these factors, Dil Raju has decided to cancel the project as huge risk will be involved to make the movie with such huge budget. Dil Raju is a clever producer and he won’t do things which incur him losses. Rather making high budget entertainers with stars, he prefers to do small to medium range movies with young heroes.
