Simple oilless Tomato Chutney

 

 

 

 

Ingredients:
* Tomato - 1/2 Kg
* Urad dal- 2 spns
* Zeera -1spn
* Rai(mustered)-- 1spn
* Garlic --4  pods
* Oil -- 1 spn
* Red chillies- 2
* Green Chilies -3
* Sugar 1spn (optional)
* Salt to taste

 

Method:
* Take a pan put oil
* When the oil is hot add Urad dal,rai, and zeera.
* Fry till mustered seeds crackle and then add Garlic pods
* Switch off the flame when the garlic pods are golden brown
* Transfer the contents into a mixi jar
* Again put the same pan on stove put very little oil
* Once the oil is hot put the cut Tomatoes
* Fry them openly coz if you put lid the water oozes out and the chutney will become  very gravy like.
* Once the Tomatoes are cooked put the flame off and let them cool down
* Make a note that putting anything which is hot in the grinder or Mixi will create lot of pressure and all chances are there that the lid may blow off. So cool the contents and put it in.
* Now add the cooled Tomatoes and to the seasoning prepared in a mixi, add sugar if you feel like.
* Grind well to paste
This chutney goes well with Dosa and hot rice and ghee.
