TANA Teamsquare NOTFICATION Venkat Sai Reddy Ragidi, 17 yrs, of Hyderabad died in Florida

Venkata Sai Reddy Ragidi, 17 yrs, and his sister Mounika Ragidi 19yrs, native of Hyderabad came to USA only 10 days ago just to visit USA and they were scheduled to go back to Hyderabad yesterday. They were visiting Florida along with a friend Harika Gunna Reddy, 25 yrs, a native of Naperville, IL.

Harika, who was driving a 2010 Nissan Sentra, steered the car into the grassy median of State Road 405 near Orlando, Florida. When she tried to re-enter the roadway, Harika overcorrected and her car skidded over the right shoulder and overturned and entered the water submerging all three people in the car on Thursday around 5 p.m.

Highway Patrol pulled all three of them out of the water and flown them to Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne.

“Doctors pronounced Venkat Sai dead as he was strapped with his seatbelt in the car under water for more than 9 minutes. Mounika and Harika are recovering and out of danger. Ragidi family called Prasad Thotakura, our TANA Executive Vice-President for the needed help and to send the remains of Venkat to Hyderabad. Mohan Nannapaneni, TANA Secretary and other TANA Team Square volunteers Srinivas Jarugula, Sidhar are working on the case to expedite the process. We express our deepest condolences to the Ragidi family.” said Jayaram Komati, President TANA.

Venkat Sai is survived by father Lakshma Reddy, a businessman & the General Secretary of the Congress Party of Greater Hyderabad, mother Rajani and sister Mounika who is in her second year of Medical College in Hyderabad.

“Alcohol was not believed to be a factor in the wreck, and investigators had not determined Thursday night what caused the driver to lose control of the car and we are investigating the case” said, Sgt. Kim Montes of the Florida Highway Patrol.
