Devi Sri Prasad Enthralls the BATA Telugus

Haranath Policherla and Trellis Newmedia in association with Bay Area Telugu Association (BATA) presented “Devi Sri Prasad” (DSP) musical concert held at Indian Community Center in Milpitas on July 11, 2008. It was a nonstop Musical Extravaganza held for more than four hours that went past the midnight.

 

The event was sold-out ahead of the time; the auditorium was fully packed with over 700 people with standing only space. In spite it being Friday and a working day, huge crowd at the show demonstrates the great popularity/fan-base of both DSP artists and the hosts. This was an amazing performance by the artists that kept the full hall of crowd till the end of show. Right from the first song, DSP kept the audience exciting and on the toes dancing for every song. Vijaya Aasuri of BATA served as Master of Ceremony for the evening. Veeru Vuppala of BATA managed the sound systems and arrangements. Vijaya Aasuri introduced DSP onto the stage first. DSP and his group immediately took the audience into their the musical mesmerism with a very popular songs “Feel My Love ... Aa Ante.., Bunny Bunny…, Jalsa…, Andamaina Bhamalu …, Something Something…, Raakhee Raakhee …, Good Morning Hyderabad …, Jagadeka Veeruniki .., Bhoogolamantha …, Aakalesthe …, Mellagaa.., etc. High energy of DSP and his artists rocked the evening with music, songs, dance, and entertainment.

One of the greatest talents of DSP is that he danced superb while singing the songs. More interestingly, he was very interactive with audience through out his singing and the show. His talk/jokes during the singing kept the audience highly involved thought out the night. During the program, he introduced others singers such as Sagar, Mallikarjun, Gopika Poornima, Kalpana, etc. who took the turns in singing. All of the singers were excellent. All singers received big applause from audience for every song, and one could hear loud appeal “once more..once more..” from the audience after every song. The audience was screaming, dancing, and clapping with high energy and happiness for every song and dance motion of the artists through out the show.

 The live orchestra as well as dancers were excellent, and well supported the program. The entire show was very entertaining and kept the audience till the last minute of the show, which went past the mid-night. The artists sang over 30 songs from many popular Telugu Movies such as Ready, Jalsa, Tulasi, Shankar Dada Zindabad, Aata, Jagadam, Rakhi, Bommarillu, Bunny, Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana, Mass, Shankar Dada MBBS, Arya, Venky, Varsham, Manmadhudu, Anandam, etc.

It was all in all an amazing performance by DSP and his group. During the entire program, the artist mesmerized the crowd with brilliant songs, dances, jokes, standup talk, and all round performance. Many of the attendees commented that this was one of the best shows that they had recently in the Bay Area, and they got every penny’s worth of entertainment from the concert. For several songs, kids as well as youngsters danced on the stage along with the artists. DSP and his artist were very friendly and inviting, and proved that they are ‘People’s artists’. At one point, there were over 30 kids of ages 3 to 6 on the stage dancing with DSP. DSP entertained the kids on the stage by helping them dance and sing. Artist was well engaged with audience thought out the concert. All age groups of audience enjoyed the show. There was laughter, amazement, and pleasant surprise all over the auditorium through out the show with DSP’s dances, jokes, songs, and entertainment. Another special attraction of the show was the dances by DSP’s choreographer Mr. Sathya.

During the concert, BATA executive committee Ravi Thiruveedhula, Prasad Mangina, Srilu Veligeti, Srinivas Kolli, Srini Mangipudi, Ramesh Konda, Vijaya Aasuri, Kamesh Malla, Sireesha Battula, Venkat Malladi, Karun Veligeti, Veeru Vuppala and BATA volunteers felicitated DSP and the artists with Plaques. On this occasion, BATA President, Ravi Thiruveedhula, thanked DSP and the artist as well the other host partners for bringing the show to the Bay Area. Haranath Policherla, Trellis Newmedia, Vijaya Seri, and Sridhar Anandula also felicitated DSP and the artists. They thanked BATA and the attendees for making this concert a great success. On behalf of the artists, DSP thanked the hosts and attendees for their love and support in making the program memorable, as this is the first time they are performing in the USA.
