Keralites have always been an integral part of United Arab Emirates. Most of the people from Kerala migrate to those countries for livelihood. This is perhaps the reason behind the decision by the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi to donate 700 crore rupees as relief to the ongoing flood situation in Kerala. However it is interesting to note that India has not been accepting any relief from foreign countries since 2014. The government of India is of the opinion that it is capable of tackling adverse situation single handily. But the present situation seems to be too hot to handle as there were reports that the damages in Kerala are worth more than 20,000 crores!!! So, it would now be interesting to watch whether the government would accept this huge sum which is certainly hard to ignore.
