Station Masters on hunger strike

Well! If you are stepping on a railway platform today, don’t get jolted by the view of Station Master sitting on the platform with a placard. The All India Station Masters Association (AISMA) was going on a one day long hunger strike. Reason! They were protesting the discrimination against station masters in the seventh pay commission. According to the pay commission, station masters can only one promotion in his life time. And the masters are asking for more! Meanwhile, Railways have issued an advisory asking the Railway Protection Force (RPF) to take precautionary measures for smooth running of the trains during the hunger strike.
