India starts with Gold in Asian Games

India has made a lucky start on the first day of the 18th Asian Games being held in Jakarta. Wrestler Bajrang Punia who was named as Indian favourite for the games has lived to the expectations. He won the gold in the 65 kg category of wrestling final. Bajrang has been in good form before coming into the Games. He has won three tournaments -- the Commonwealth Games, the Tbilisi Grand Prix, and the Yasar Dogu International and looked so confident of aiming a gold in the Asian Games too. Besides Bajrang, our shooters Apurvi Chandela and Ravi Kumar won bronze in the mixed rifle event. India is now at the ninth position in the medals tally after the end of day one.
