10 years of jail for ragging

 

The term of ragging might have been started to create rapport between the students. But it has often turned violent. It has became a tool for the seniors to harass. Cases of aggressive ragging has often led to ruined careers. But things have not changed in many colleges. Ragging is a norm that is being still followed. So, the Andhra Police has decided to deal with the menace in strict way. B. Prasada Rao, a DSP from Srikakulam District has warned o dire consequences for ragging. He said that the offending students would be booked under the Andhra Pradesh Prohibition of Ragging Act. People who are found guilty under this act would be facing imprisonment upto 10 years.
