Its the saga of a common
man, Pachhabotla Sreenivas (Kamal Hassan) as remembered by the
ex-Commissioner of Police Eeshwara Prasad (Venkatesh Interviews ). Srinivas
leaves bags titled as I love India at various places in the
city of Hyderabad. He leaves yet another bag in the police station
toilet, where he goes to register the complaint about his lost
vallet. He buys the vegitables as told by his wife. Carrying a
bedding holdall he reaches to the top of a ten storied building under
construction. There he opens the bedding and begins to assemble the
electronic equipment.. Then he makes a call to Eeshwara Prasad and
informs that he fixed bombs in crowded places of the city.
He agrees
to reveal the places only if his demands are met..One of his demands
is that the police should bring together four hard core terrorists of
Al-Qaeda. The Commissioner of Police calls for the Chief Secretary
(Lakshmi). She informs the issue to the CM and she is granted with
the permission to carry out the action plan. But fearing failure, she
thrusts the authority into the hands of the Commissioner of Police.
On the other hand, Srinivas contacts him and asks him to check the
bombs placed in the Lakdikapul police station as a proof of his
identity.
This makes Eeswara Prasad to sit up and take notice of
Srinivas' demands. How the hide and seek game of Srinivas makes
Eeswara Prasad realize the flaws of the system and how & why
Srinivas designs this this mission forms the rest of the story.
Analysis
This film is the remake of
the Bollywood hit film Wednesdaystarring Anupam Kher and
Naseeruddin Shah. Though a remake, Eenadu scores over Wednesday for its nativity. Kudos to the director Chakri
Tholeti. He must be congratulated for the taking of the flick. Some
occasions in the first reel suffer from irregularities of lip-synch.
TeluguOne Perspective
Action: Kamal Hassan needs no
repetitive complements for his acting abilities. Yes, he performed
well in this too. It is Venkatesh, who should be complemented for his
subtle acting talent that differs from his usual commercial flicks.
He did justice to his role. Throughout the film the clash of the
titans.. Kamal and Venkatesh continues. It makes the story more
interesting. Seasoned actress Lakshmi performed well in showing the
professional rivalry between the IPS and IAS officers. The artistes
who performed the roles of Arif Khan and Gowtham Reddy too acted
well. Others did justice to their roles.
Music: The one and only song of the
flick.. Allah Jaane... was sung by Kamal Hassan. The re-recording
is excellent.
Cinematography:
Outstanding camera work by Manoj Soni.
Editing:
Well done.
Art:
Thota Tharani once again proves that he is numero uno of
his ART!
This
film of a different genre is sure to end the quest of a film-lover
for a fine flick
