Action:
Baby Shamili of Maniratnam's hit film Anjali has now turned heroine.
It can be said coincidental that she got roles that are affected by
serious illness both in Anjali and Oy. Present Shamili of 'Oy' fails
to reach the expectations of the audience when compared to the baby
Shamili of Anjali.
The scenes depicting the heroine
suggesting to smoke in contrary to her traditional attitude and
comparing the talibottu to a dog's belt could
boomerang, if care is not taken. Siddarth has come up with a matured
performance and he has shown his mettle once again. Sunil was
hilarious and his sequences with his colleague gave many moments of
laughter. Tanikellabharani was standard, Napoleon looked graceful,
Krishnudu was cute and his presence was good enough, Ali was okay,
master Bharat was regular. Surekha Vani was seductive and stylish.
Pradeep Rawat's 'Chatrapati' track failed to impress. Ravikondala
Rao, Radhakumari and others did their bit as required.
Music:
All the songs are scored well. Mainly title song and the song
'povadde povadde' – are impressive. Yuvanshankar Raja's
tunes are very melodious.
Cinematography:
Successfully elevated scenes mood - in happy moods as well as tragic
ones – as if the camera too played a role. Cinematography came out
really well.
Editing: By
Marthand K. Venkatesh was crisp.
Choreography:
Good.
Art:
Rajeevan was also good at its job.
Though
a tragedy, elements of entertainment make it suitable to watch once!
